The Journal of Ilahiyat Researches is published by Atatürk University, Faculty of Theology twice in a year on 30th of June and 31th of December.
The Journal of Ilahiyat Researches aims to contribute to the accumulation of national and international knowledge in the field of theology by publishing the orginial research articles and book review with national and international scientific qualities.
In our journal, the original articles together with book critique (review) articles in the fields of the Theology (religious researches and Islamic researches) in Turkish, Arabic and English languages. The subfields are as follows:
Basic Islamic Sciences: Tafseer (Interpretation), Hadith, Kalam (Islamic Theology), Islamic Law, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism and Arabic Language and Retoric.
Philosophy and Religious Sciences: Islamic Philosophy, Religious Philosophy, Religion Psychology, Religious Sociology, Religious Education, History of Religion, History of Philosophy, Logic, Religion Culture and Moral Education.
Islamic History and Arts: Islamic History, Islamic Art History, Turkish-Islamic Literature and Religious Music.
ARTICLE WRITING RULES In the footnote and bibliography of the articles published in our journal, İSNAD 2 citation system is used. Click for İSNAD 2 citation system. Articles prepared for publication in the journal should be prepared in accordance with the format below. The writings prepared for the publication in the journal have to be written in a page size of 17x24 in Microsoft Office Word program, and with the font “Book Antiqua”, in “font size 11” and in “single” line spacing. The margins of the text should be adjusted to 3,5 cm at the top, 3,5 cm at the bottom, 1,75 cm on the left and 1,75 cm on the right, and the binding margin should be 0 cm; paragraph spacing should be arranged to 6 nk in the front. The footnotes should be arranged to have the same format, in “font size 8”, “single” line spacing and the first line should have “hanging indents of 0,5 cm”. In Latin langugaes BookAntiqua, in Arabic Times New Roman and in Persian TraditionalArabic should be used as theme style. If the language of the article is Arabic, a second latinized bibliography should be given in addition to the Arabic bibliography. Article scope should not exceed 30 pages. Titles At the beginning of the article, there must be titles both in Turkish and English. The titles should be as short as possible and able to reflect the subject. The titles should be formed as “1. 2. 3.; 1.1., 1.2.; 1.2.1.” using a number and a full stop after the number. All letters in first degree title must be written uppercase letter and bold as following example: INTRODUCTION 1. IMPORTANCE OF KALAM (THEOLOGY) 2. LEGITIMACY OF KALAM CONCLUSION BIBLIOGRAPHY The words which are in second,third and fourth degree tittles start with uppercase letter and must be written as bond. Italic theme should not be used (like 1.3. Saffar’s Kalam Method). Fifth degree and following subtitles should not be open unless it is required in article. Name(s) and Address(es) of the Author(s) Name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s) should be written lower case letters, not in bold or italic, author(s) university, his faculty, his department, the name of city and country must be point out and author(s) active mail address must be written. In addition to this, international unique researcher number (ORCID) should be added in order to identify citations and to exactly determine by local and international indexes. For example: Ömer Kara Professor Dr., Ataturk University, Faculty of Theology, Department of Tefsir, Erzurum/Turkey Prof. Dr., Atatürk Üniversitesi, İlahiyat Fakültesi, Tefsir Anabilim Dalı. orcid.org/… Abstract At the beginning of the article, there must be abstracts in Turkish and in English, which consist of at least 120 and at most 150 words. The sources used for the study, and the numbers for the images and charts should not be mentioned. Below the abstract there must be keywords of at least 5, at most 8 words. A extended summary is requested from the author for the articles decided to be published by the reviewers, afterwards. The extended summary should consist of at least 750 words. The abstract and extended summary have to be written with the font “Book Antiqua”, in “font size 10” and in “single” line spacing. Keywords The keywords must be in accordance with the content of the article and must be inclusive. Following the abstract “Keywords” must be given consisting of at least 5, at most 8 words. Keywords are of great importance as they help scanning of the publication in electronic media, indexing and as they help the study to be found. Therefore, concepts, which directly reflect the related articles, must be chosen. Extended Summary A summary (prototype of the article) is requested from the author as well as an abstract in the article. The summary must reflect the prototype of the article in English, in a way. Foreigner researchers who don’t speak Turkish will have the opportunity to make references by looking at the English summary of the article. That’s why the summary should be written in an authentic language in English. A summary is requested from the author for the articles decided to be published by the reviewers, afterwards. The summary must consist of at least 750, at most 1000 words.Summay should be written in one paragraph. Writing of the Authors’ Names a. In the first place they are mentioned within the article, the names of people are written basing on the article name and spelling rules in the Turkish Religious Foundation Islam Encyclopedia’s people specification. For example; Fakhr al-din al-Razi, Imam al-Haramayn al-Juwayni. b. The dates of death for the mentioned people are stated in the first place they are mentioned as “(d. Hagera/Gregorian)”: Abu Ishaq al-Saffar (d. 534/1139). c. Suffixes that come after the proper noun, is used next to the noun. Wrong Spelling: “Saffâr (ö. 534/1139)’ın kelâm müdâfaası …”. “Saffar(d. 53/1139)’s defense of kalam)”. Correct Spelling: “Saffâr’ın (ö. 534/1139) kelâm müdâfaası …”. “(Saffar’s (d. 53/1139) defense of kalam)”. d. The vowel points for the letter ayn used in people’s names (notion and sect names) must be shown as ayn (‘), not as al-hamzah (’). For example; Şu’be. e. If the name of the author is written in one word in the text and footnotes, the harf-al-ta’rif is not used. Wrong Spelling: er-Râzî, es-Saffâr, el-Gazzâlî. Correct Spelling: Râzî, Saffâr, Gazzâlî. f. The med (elongation) in the person and study names after the letters “Ghayn” and “Kaph” is shown as “ā, ī, ū”, not as “â, î, û”. The Writing of Verses of the Quran In the references of verses, the text of the verse or the Turkish translation is given in double quotes and the numbers of surah and verse are given inside the brackets, not in the footnotes. The “el-” prefixes and elongations (â) are abided. Moreover, the translation of the verse is written in straight form, not in italic. For example; “İnananlar o kimselerdir ki Allah anıldığı zaman kalpleri titrer” (el-Enfâl 8/2). “The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely –“(al-Anfal 8/2). Referencing to the Hadiths While referencing from the Kutub al-Sittah, a comma is used after the names Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and after this comma the name of the book and the hadith numbers are given, while in Bukhari, Tirmidhi and Nasa’i the book name and bab (part) numbers, and in Musnad the volume and page numbers are given after the comma. Roman numbers are not used for volume numbers. Hadith books outside of these are showed as sources like Musnad For example: Ahmed b. Hanbel, Musnad, 4: 289. Abu Dawood, Sunan, “Ilm”, 15. Bukhari, “Ilm”, 12. Muslim, “Ticârât”, 45. Writing the Quotations The quotations in less than three lines are given with double-quotes inside a text. For quotations inside these quotations, single quotes are used. If the quotation is more than three lines, it is written in Book Antiqua, font size 9, with 0,75 cm margin on the left part of the page and 0,5 cm on the right part of the page, double-quotes are not used. Writing Footnotes In the footnotes, the references must be written in the ISNAD citation style. As a general rule, the copyright information of the work is separated with a COMMA in the footnotes. When the same author is referenced for a second time, the name of the work should be abbreviated as a.g.e. or a.g.m. In the footnotes “Publication” is abbreviated as “Pub.” The abbreviation “p.” cannot be used to mean the page. The volume number is written without using the abbreviation “v.” For example: 8: 213. 1. | قواعد كتابة المقالة فيما يتعلق بكتابة مقالة تُنْشَرُ في المجلة فلابد من استخدام برنامج Microsoft Office Word مراعيا الإعدادات التالية: أبعاد الصفحة: 17x24؛ نوع الخط: Book Antiqua ؛ حجم الخط: 11 punto؛ تباعد الأسطر : 1؛ هوامش الصفحة: من الأعلى: 3.5 سم، من الأسفل: 3.5 سم ، من الشمال: 1.75 سم ، من اليمين: 1.75 سم؛ هامش الجلد: 0 سم؛ تباعد الفقرات: أمام 6 nk؛ في الحاشية السفلية: نفس نوع الخط ، الحجم: 8 ، تباعد الأسطر 1 ، المسافة البادئة (معلقة) بمقدار: 0.5 سم لا بد من استخدام نوع الخط Book Antiqua في اللغات اللاتنية، و نوع الخط Times New roman في اللغة العربية، و نوع الخط Traditional Arabic في اللغة الفارسية. إذا كانت لغة المقال هي اللغة العربية ، فينبغي تقديم ببليوغرافيا لاتينية ثانية بالإضافة إلى ببليوغرافيا عربية. يجب ألا يتجاوز نطاق المقالة 30 صفحة أو 9 آلاف كلمة. العناوين:
يجب أن يكون العنوان في بداية المقالة باللغة التركية والإنجليزية، وأن يكون العنوان موجَزا ومبرِزا لموضوع المقالة. العناوين الرئيسية والفرعية على الشكل الآتي: “1. 2. 3.; 1.1., 1.2.; 1.2.1.” ، وأن تكون الأرقام مع نقاطها تلقائيّة (أوتوماتيكية)، وأن تكون العناوين بالخط الغامق مثال: " المدخل ،1. أهمية الكلام، 2. مشروعية الكلام، الخاتمة ، المصادر"
في العناوين الغير رئيسية (الفرعية) يجب كتابة الحرف الأول من كل كلمة كبيرا و ويجب ان تكون الكلمات كلها بالخط الغامق مثل (1.3. Saffâr’ın Kelam Yöntemi) ولا يستخدم في هذه العناوين الخط المائل، وفي المقالة لا يوضع عنوان من الدرجة الخامسة وما يليها الا عند الاضطرار . أسماء وعناوين الكُتّاب:
أسماء الكُتّاب و كناهم يجب أن تكون بالحروف الصغيرة و بالخط الغامق و ليس مائلا ، ويجب أن يُكتَبَ اسم مكان الوظيفة والفرع العلمي الذي يشغله الكاتب، وكذلك اسم المدينة والحساب الالكتروني التابع للمؤسسة. و يجب إضافة رقم الباحث ضمن معلوماته الشخصية عبر موقع ( orcid) من اجل تثبيت الاحالات العلمية المحلية والدولية عبر موقع (indeks) مثال:

لا بد أن تكون المقالة مبتدئة بملخص قصير وموجز لموضوع المقالة، على أن يكون باللغتين التركية والإنجليزية، وأن لا ينقص الملخص الواحد منهما عن (120) كلمة وأن لا يزيد على (150) كلمة. ويجب أن يتضمن هذ الملخص سبب اختياره لهذا الموضوع ومشكلته، وأن يحتوي على النتائج التي وصل إليها، وما عدا ذلك فلا يُذكر في المخلص كالجداول والأشكال البيانية وأسماء المصادر وغيرها. و يجب كتابة الكلمات المفتاحية تحت الملخص.
الكلمات المفتاحية:
يجب أن تكون الكلمات المفتاحية مناسبة وشاملة لمحتوى المقالة، وأن يكون عددها لا ينقص عن (5)كلمات ولا يزيد على (8) كلمات، ومكانها يكون بعد الملخص مباشرة. والكلمات المفتاحية لها أهمية كبيرة من جهة أنها تُساعد على الوصول إلى المقالة بشكل سريع عبر البحث الالكتروني؛ لذلك لا بد من اختيار التعابير والمصطلحات والكلمات التي تعكس ماهية الموضوع بدقة. الملخص العام (Extended Summary)
إضافة إلى الملخص فإنه يُطْلَب من كاتب المقالة أن يكتب موجَزا عامَا باللغة الإنجليزية، مبرزًا فيه الهيكل العام كما لو أنه الشكل المصغر للمقالة. وبواسطة هذا الموجز يستطيع الباحث الأجنبي غير العارف بلغة المقالة أن يستفيد منها وأن يعزو إليها؛ لذلك لا بد من كتابة المقالة باللغة الإنجليزية الأكاديمية الدقيقة. ويطلب هذا الموجز من الكاتب بعد قرار اللجنة المحكمة بالسماح للباحث بنشرها، على ألا ينقص عدد كلمات الموجز عن 750 وألا يزيد على 1000 كلمة، ويجب كتابة الملخص في فقرة واحدة. كتابة أسماء المؤلفين:
أ. يتم كتابة أسماء المؤلفين في أول ذكر لها في المقالة، على أن تتم مراعاة القواعد والمعايير الموجودة في مادة أسماء الأشخاص الموجودة في الموسوعة الإسلامية لوقف الديانة التركية. مثال: فخر الدين الرَّازي. ب. يتم ذكر التاريخ الهجري والميلادي لوفاة الأشخاص عند الذكر الأول لهم في المقالة على الشكل الآتي: أبو إسحاق الصفّار (ت. 534/1139) كتابة الآيات:
عند الاستدلال بآية من القرآن الكريم يتم وضع الآية داخل علامة الاقتباس " الآيــــة " ويوضع داخل قوسَين رقم السورة أوّلا ومن ثم رقم الآية، وهذه العملية تكون بعد ذكر الآية مباشرة لا في الحاشية، على سبيل المثال: "وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ" (2/43).
الإسناد إلى مراجع الحديث الشريف:
عند إسناد حديث إلى إحدى الكتب الستة (البخاري، مسلم، الترمذي، أبو داود، النسائي، ابن ماجه) فإننا نضع بعد هذه الأسماء فاصلة (،) وبعد الفاصلة إذا كان المرجع لكتابي الموطأ وصحيح مسلم فنضع اسم الكتاب ثم رقم الحديث، أما إن كان المرجع كتاب البخاري أو جامع الترمذي أو سنن النسائي فنضع اسم الكتاب ثم رقم الباب، وإذا ما كان المرجع مسند أحمد بن حنبل فإننا نضع رقم الجلد ثم رقم الصفحة، على أن لا يكون التعبير عن رقم الجلد بالأرقام الرومانية. على سبيل المثال: أحمد بن حنبل، المسند، 4:289. أبو داود، السنن، "العلم"، 15. البخاري، "العلم"، 12. مسلم، "التجارة"، 45. طريقة الاقتباس:
إذا كان الاقتباس لا يتجاوز الثلاثة أسطر فإننا نضعه داخل إشارتي الاقتباس المزدوجة "----" ، وأما إذا كان الاقتباس من اقباسٍ آخر فإننا نضع هذا الاقتباس داخل إشارتي الاقتباس الفردية على الشكل الآتي: ’----’ ، وأما إذا كان الاقتباس فوق ثلاثة أسطر فإننا نجعله في فقرة مستقلة، ويكون نوع الخط Book Antiqua وحجمه 9 ، وأن تكون أبعاد الفقرة (مسافة بادئة) عن يسار الصفحة 0.75 سم، وعن يمين الصفحة 0.5 سم، ولا نستخدم إشارتي الاقتباس. كتابة الحاشية:
المراجع الموثَّقة في الحاشية تُكتب حسب قواعد العطف في (İSNAD). وأما أسماء الكتب الموجودة في الحواشي فإنها تُفصَل بإشارة الفاصلة (،). وعندما نقوم بإسناد المعلومات إلى مصدر قد تمت الإشارة إليه سابقا؛ فإننا لا نستخدم عبارة (المصدر السابق) أو (نفس المصدر) أو (المصدر نفسه) وما شابهها، بل نشير إلى المصدر السابق بذكر اللقب الذي يعرَفُ به الكاتب دون ذكر (ص) أو (ج) للدلالة على الصفحة أو الجلد، ونكتفي بذكر رقم الصفحة والجلد فحسب كما هو موضّح في المثال التالي: الزمخشري، 5: 129 1. كتاب لمؤلف واحد

The publication process in the Journal of Ilahiyat Researches constitutes to the development and distribution of knowledge objectively and in a respected way. For this reason, the applied processes are reflected on the quality of the writers’ and the quality of institutions works which support the authors. Reviewed articles reify and promote the scientific method. At this point, it is of importance for all the stakeholders of the process (writers, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewer and the editors) to be in accordance with standards about ethic principles. Journal of Ilahiyat Researches expects all stakeholders to carry on the ethic responsibilities below within the context of publication ethics.
The ethical duty and responsibilities below were prepared by taking into consideration the guides and policies published by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as open access (See (COPE Yönerge Türkçe)
It is a building block for an article to be published in a refereed-journal which is necessary for the development of knowledge network that is agreeable and respected. This is the direct reflection of the quality of writers’ and their institutions’ studies. Reviewed articles reify and promote the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to reach an agreement about publication for all the stakeholders, the writer, journal’s editor, the reviewer and the publishing associations:
1. Autorship
· The bibliography must be complete.
· No place must be given for plagiarism and false data.
· The same study must not be tried to be published in more than one journal, rules of the scientific research and publication ethics must be obeyed.
Actions against the scientific research and publication ethics are:
a) Plagiarism: Presenting others’ ideas, methods, data, practices, writing, forms or studies partly or wholly without referencing to the owners according to scientific rules,
b) Forgery: Producing data that is not based on research, editing or changing the presented or published study by basing it on fictitious data, reporting or publishing these, showing an unmade research as if it were made,
c) Distortion: Falsifying the obtained data and the research records, showing the methods, devices and materials that were not used in the study as if they had been used, not taking the data that are not inappropriate to the research hypothesis into consideration, juggling with data and/or results to make them be appropriate to the related theory and presuppositions, falsifying or manipulating the research results in accordance with the advantages of the people and the institutions that support the researcher,
d) Dissection: Dissecting the results of a study in a way that would destroy the integrity of the study and inappropriately, and using these in associate professorship exam evaluations by making a lot of publications of them without referencing each other and presenting these as separate studies in academic promotions,
e) Undeserved authorship: Including those who don’t have an active contribution in authors, not including those who have an active contribution in authors, changing the ranking of authors without a reason and inappropriately, excluding the names of those with active contribution from the study during publication or in next publications, making one’s name included – by exerting influence – in authors despite having no active contribution,
f) Other types of violation of ethics: Not stating openly the people, institutions and organizations and their contributions to the study in the publication of the researches that are made by the support of those, not following the ethic rules in studies done on humans or animals, not respecting the rights of patients in the publications, reviewer’s sharing the knowledge in a study, which is to be reviewed, with others before it is published, using the sources, places, opportunities and devices, which are provided or kept for scientific researches, out of their purposes, accusing someone of violation of ethics in a baseless, injudicious and malicious way (YOK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Guideline, Article 8)
2. Author’s Responsibilities
· All authors should considerably contribute to the study.
· The statement that all the data in the article is real and authentic is necessary.
· All the authors should ensure withdrawal and correction of mistakes
· Article written in the Arabic language will normally have an Arabic bibliography. It is also necessary to create a second bibliography by Latinizing this Arabic bibliography.
3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
• The reviewer assessments are expected to be objective and critical.
• In case the reviewer answers the required clauses in the report positively or negatively, s/he must present both of them with justifications. The reviewer must certainly put forward “alternative suggestions” when s/he asks for correction or answers negatively.
• The authors are expected to make only a text-centered assessment, to avoid statements about the insufficiencies of the author/authors and not to use expressions that would destroy their reputations.
• The reviewer is expected not to answer the assessment criterion only as yes or no, to give details about the negative opinions and to state the justifications.
Moreover, the editor does not send assessments to the reviewers in these cases so far as possible:
• To the reviewers with whom the author/authors previously published collaborative work,
• To the reviewers who helped the author/authors in their pre-readings,
• To the reviewers with whom the author/authors are known to have problems previously,
• To the reviewers who would benefit financially from the publication of the study,
• To the reviewers who work in the same institution (the same department).
4. Editorial Responsibilities
· Editors have all the responsibility and authority to accept or decline an article.
· Editors should not be in a conflict of interest about the articles they accepted or declined.
· Only the articles that would contribute in the field should be accepted.
· Editors should side a publication for correction or withdrawal when mistakes are found.
· Editors must keep the names of the reviewers hidden and must prevent plagiarism/false data.
The review process is located in the centre of the success in scientific publication. It is a part of our promise to save and develop the review process. Journal of Ilahiyat Researches has to help scientific community in every case that is about the scientific publication ethics, especially when there are doubtful, repeated publications or in cases of plagiarism.
A reader may file a report by sending an e-mail to ilahiyatdergi@atauni.edu.tr when s/he finds a significant mistake or error in an article published in Journal of Ilahiyat Researches or when s/he has a complaint about the editorial content (plagiarism, repeated articles etc.). Since complaints provide opportunities for our development, we take them kindly and we aim to give feedbacks that are quick and constructive.
5. Discovering Plagiarism
Articles sent to be published in the journal are assessed by at least two reviewers with two-sided blind review evaluation. Additionally, it is verified via a special program used for the detection of plagiarism that the articles were not published before or do not include plagiarism.
